In Brief: Corpus Christi Edition

Here is your regular Sunday selection of links to good things in Blogville and Beyond.
  • It's a bleak day for us Red Wings fans. What will I want to remember most from this dismal Game 7? Sidney Crysby's injury "to the midsection," the latest dive taken by one of the league's best divers. [YouTube]

  • Nora the Piano-Playing Cat was a YouTube sensation. Now a Lithuanian composer, Mindaugas Piečaitis, has even written a concerto (well, a four-minute gimmick piece -- some video excerpts) that incorporates bits of Nora's "improvisations" by video uplink. Nora even has a blog. [Nora's Mews]

  • Obviously, I am all for classical music performing organizations using technology and new media to spread the word about their offerings. But, please, no matter how much students egged on by Greg Sandow want to "change" classical music, keep the texting and tweeting, the iPhones and Blackberrys out of the concert hall. Rather than write out a defense of this position, I direct you to Hilary Hahn, one of the most tech-savvy performers out there, as quoted by Amanda Ameer. [Life's a Pitch]

  • Negotiating Manhattan with small children in tow? Been there, done that, but with strollers in our case. Let's just say it is an experience better remembered than lived. [Fredösphere]
